From start to finish, nothing new to me. For the following reasons, I guess:

  • I’ve been a designer for 25+ years;
  • I’ve been studying creativity for the past 5 years;
  • I have introductory notions in statistics and AI;

Anyone with sound notions of statistics will have no problem avoiding some of the pitfalls mentioned, and anyone with a good old-fashioned design education will be used to reframing problems (I actually figured out the solution to the candle problem the instant I saw the picture).

Many supposedly creative occupations are nowadays filled by people with fake specializations. That’s why there are so many people with job descriptions that have the word “designer” in the title, but who actually are clueless about design and creative problem-solving.

I do applaud your effort to shine a light on so many misconceptions, though.
