Thank you for the very useful tidbit. It’s refreshing to read an article which is not just BS with “Steve Jobs” glued to the title.
On another note, I think it’s perhaps a side-effect of rampant TEDtalkivitis, the fact that most coaching and teaching nowadays happens without tests (evaluation, assessment, or whatever you wanna call it). The whole process (coaching/teaching) is looked upon as entertainment rather than as knowledge transfer or growth opportunity. If you’re trying to teach something and you don’t have any sort of test, you don’t even know if you succeeded.
